Marrianne works on governance, policy management, and negotiating contracts for SDB.

Felicia Watson
League Secretary
Felicia joined the board in January 2021 just before COVID struck. In the Secretary role, she is the primary lead for all SDB communications, manages the registration processes for the league and New Skater Camp, preps and facilitates board meetings, and works hard to keep chaos organized. She can be seen volunteering as a Non-Skating Official (NSO) and served as a Team Parent before joining the board.

Amy Fulford
League Treasurer
Amy joined the board in November 2019. As league Treasurer, Amy takes care of all the things related to money and government reporting. She spends most of her volunteer hours glued to her computer updating Quick Books, monitoring our bank accounts and preparing reports about our financial strength.

Kevin Obbayi
Bout Lead
Serving as SDB’s Bout Lead, Kevin organizes and staffs our full production bouts, and organizes bouts for our travel teams. He serves as our lead contact with the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA). Before the pandemic, Kevin volunteered as a Skater Official (SO) and reffed bouts. He proactively recruits new volunteers for SDB.

Sarah Palmer

In the Brat Advocate role, Sarah provides support for the SDB community, including skaters, parents coaches, and board members, when issues arise. She is the primary lead for formal grievances and leads SDB’s Advocacy Team.

Jeanne McGrady "Old Lady McGrady"
Coach Representative
Old Lady McGrady (known as “Old Lady” by all the junior skaters) has been coaching with SDB since 2014. She’s a former skater who skated with Jet City and Rat City roller derby leagues. She gets her energy from working with the juniors who keep her old self – young.

Kelli Robson
Community Outreach Coordinator
Kelli is SDB’s Community Outreach Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating community events, including participating in Seattle’s Pride Parade. Annually, in the winter holiday season, our ten teams participate in gift-giving events, which Kelli organizes, collects, wraps, and delivers to the YWCA for the families we adopted. Additionally, Kelli volunteers as a Non-Skating Official (NSO), bout announcer, and Derby Prom Emcee.

Jeanne McGrady "Old Lady McGrady" (Interim)
Equity and Social Justice Lead
During the pandemic, Old Lady has worked hard to bring our Board of Directors together to learn about racial equality, allyship, and social justice. She leads our Equity Committee, which has put a framework in place to discover, learn, and implement changes within SDB, regularly recommends training and readings for the board, and facilitates interactive discussions in our monthly meetings to educate and keep focus on this important work.

Michele Bacon "Bacon"
Events Coordinator
Just as we rolled into COVID Quarantine in March 2020, Michele stepped up and volunteered to become SDB’s Events Coordinator. This role coordinates all intra-league events, including the Welcome BBQ, Team Reveal Ceremonies, Halloween Party, SDB All Night Skate, and End-of-the-Year Party (aka Derby Prom). Michele is also known as Coach Bacon Blitz, can be seen volunteering as a Non-Skating Official (NSO), leads the Events Committee, and currently serves on SDB’s Equity and Social Justice Committee.

Jeremy (aka Needs) serves as Head NSO. In this role, he recruits, trains, and schedules non-skating officials to learn all the rules of derby as it pertains to each Non-Skating Official (NSO) position. He has worked hard to reformat and streamline the administrative side of NSOing. Most of his volunteer hours are spent at practices and bouts training new recruits and covering the most critical NSO positions when he is short on volunteers. For anyone interested in learning more about roller derby, the NSO positions are the best place to start learning the rules while watching the best sport ever played.

Mike Mariani "Millennium Foulcon"
League Head Ref (Officials Lead)
Mike, better known as Foulcon, is SDB’s League Head Ref and Officials Lead. He recruits, trains and schedules Skating Officials (SOs) for practices, bouts and tournaments. In May 2019, Sarah joined SDB’s Board of Directors as Merchandise Coordinator. She coordinates the acquisition of all SDB related merchandise, including uniforms for skaters. Additionally, she manages the Merchandise booth at bouts to sell merchandise for both the league and each of our ten teams. Sarah is always looking for volunteers to recruit, train, and staff the merchandise booth so skaters and fans can wear the absolute coolest team merch in sports history. Warning to families – your skater will wear their team merch until you have to peel it off them, so buy extra and be good to your nose.

Benji Friedman "Carmen Die-Oxide"
Program Coordinator
Benji currently serves as the Programming Coordinator for SDB, which includes: skater training and development, working with the Positive Coaching Alliance, running New Skater Camp, and any other programming needs that arise for the league. She began skating roller derby back in 2006 and coaching for SDB in 2008. Benji aka Carmen Dioxide, was one of the coaches for the first ever JuniorCon held in Seattle in 2010. She has coached and skated on the local and national levels using WFTDA, USARs and RDCL rules (banked track) for both adults and juniors. Although retired now from both active skating (12 years) and coaching (12 years), Benji would never miss an opportunity to skate on the bank track.

Public Relations Lead
Allyson joined the board in November 2019. As the Public Relations Lead, Allyson is passionate about promoting SDBs’ story. She coordinates external league messaging and communication with media and print publications.

Krista Rietberg
Safety Lead
SDB would not be where we are in this pandemic had it not been for our Safety Lead, Krista. We have been so fortunate to have Krista guiding us through returning to skating safely. Madisun Holec
Skater Representative
In April 2019, Mattie brought forth a proposal to develop a Skater Representative liaison position on the Board, a position that raises up Skater Voices to League Leadership, and became SDB’s first Skater Rep. Skater Reps bring up skater issues as they arise at the league level (not individual issues), liaisons with all divisions, solicits feedback from skaters, conveys board decisions and the rationale behind them to skaters, fosters league values at all levels, serves on the Programs Committee, liaisons closely with the Coach Rep and the Program Lead, and serves as a resource/skater voice to all Board members.
