JOINING the league AFTER CAMP
If your skater is between the ages of 7-17 and new to the sport of roller derby, they need to be able to skate unassisted and fall safely. If they aren’t able to do this, we recommend they attend New Skater Camp where skaters learn the fundamentals of the sport, including basic skating skills and safety techniques.
If you have any questions about the New Skater Camp or would like to learn more about joining the regular SDB season during the school year, please don't hesitate to email us at info@seattlederbybrats.com. We’d be happy to provide you with all the information you need to get started on this exciting journey!
New Skater Camp Attendance Policy
We strongly encourage all skaters (especially those who are new to roller skating) to attend all the camp dates as we begin learning the basics of skating and safety right away. Skaters who are able to attend all dates will build an incredibly strong foundation of skills and gain the most benefit from the experience, regardless of whether they continue on to join the league. We know that everyone has their own pace and learning style, and we’ll be there to help you every step of the way. Some skaters may not meet certain safety requirements to be placed on a team.
Regular Season Information
Once your skater joins the league, they'll be assigned to one of our divisions and will have a specific practice schedule. We offer several different divisions to ensure that skaters are placed in an appropriate level based on their skill and experience. Our coaches will work closely with each skater to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential. Learn about our teams and divisions here. Practices are generally each Sunday.
